What is Microneedling PRP +RF (Radio Frequency)

How does this treatment work??
The micro needles create micro injuries to the dermis and initiate a healing. Injured cells release growth and wound healing signals to undifferentiated cells which cause production of new collagen. This new collagen fills in the wounded areas, acne scars, and thickens the skin. This process of new collagen can last from weeks, to up to 6-8 months after the last procedure. The heat generated by RF (Radio Frequency) produces a healing response that allows the skin to thicken and tighten.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is blood plasma that has a high concentration of platelets. As platelets are organized in the clot, they release several different growth factors, and other cytokines to promote healing. They also attract stem cells to repair the damaged area. When PRP is used in injured or damaged tissue it can help remodel to a healthier and younger state.
What are the best skin types and patients for this treatment?
PRP combined with RF microneedling is indicated to tighten and lift skin, to treat wrinkles, large pores, stretch marks, and improve acne scarring.
Persons who have the following conditions may not be treated; skin infections or disease, bleeding disorders, patients on anticoagulants, pregnancy, keloid skin, pacemaker vascular stent or implant, skin malignancy. Patients who desire skin tightening and those with fine lines and wrinkles or those with acne scars are ideal candidates. Does it hurt?
A topical anesthetic is applied the area to be treated to make the procedure more comfortable about 20 minutes before the procedure begin.
What are the risks?
immediately after treatment, there may be some pinpoint bleeding and sometimes swelling, which can be minimized with cooling packs after treatment.
Infections are rare and, can be minimized by proper aftercare treatment.
Changes in skin pigment may occur. This may be minimized by avoiding picking at the skin and excessive sun exposure after treatment.
Redness is variable from patient to patient and usually settles in 24-48 hours.
Small marks may persist for a few days and dryness of the skin for 3-7 days.
Bruising is also a possibility as the needle is used to place the PRP into the skin, and this may take a week or so to resolve.
Flaking of the skin may occur.
What is the downtime like?
You will be able to resume your normal activities the day after the procedure. By leaving the entire epidermis layer intact, PRP combined with RF microneedling allows the patient to resume normal activities quickly.
How many sessions of treatment I need?
Please note that 3 to 6 sessions (depending on cases) per year are recommended for obtaining optimal visible results. The gap between each treatment recommended is about 4-6 weeks.
What should I do after treatment to get the best results?
Home care is an important role in reducing recovery time. Keep the area clean even from make-up following the initial treatment session. We will provide you with moisturizing instructions.
When should I start seeing results?
It takes some time for your body to produce collagen about 1 – 4 weeks, the tightening effect and final result are going to appear gradually over 6-8 months. Most will see improvement several weeks after the treatment, but the full results will likely take months to be fully realized.
How long will the results last?
The durability of the results will depend on a number of factors including the age of the patient but most will require a touch-up procedure or two after 1 year after a treatment.
What is the aftercare like?
Avoid scrubbing the injection sites for at least 4 hours. However, mineral-based makeup may be applied immediately after, if desired. Starting on the evening of the treatment and for the next several days; wash your face gently with a mild cleanser once to twice daily.
Course of treatment
It is important to note that for most treatments, the final results are visible around 2 weeks post-procedure. Meaning, we encourage you to remain patient during this time before making a final judgment.

Numbing cream is applied to the treatment area for 20 minutes. Blood is drawn from the arm and then specially prepared to isolate the platelet rich plasma. The Microneedling RF is performed using a handheld device with a specialized tip that is tailored to your skin’s thickness while simultaneously heating the collagen with the radio frequency energy. Before the micro holes from the needle can close the PRP spread over the area allowing the PRP rich with growth factors to penetrate into the collagen layer to help with the collagen rejuvenation and healing process.

The treatment is very comfortable with most patients saying they experienced no discomfort at all. Makeup can be applied the next day and normal activities resumed.

The procedure is relatively comfortable.

You may have a bit of pain, bruising, and swelling afterwards. These tend to go away within a few days.
The biggest risks comes from the way your blood is handled. It’s essential that the blood removed from your body be kept sterile. Otherwise, you could develop an infection.

Results can last as long as 18 months. The longevity of your results depends on you. Results will last longer if you maintain proper skin care which includes sunblock every day!

The downtime is minimal. You may return to your normal routine post-treatment. A mild sunburn feeling is common. After treatment the skin may look a little flushed for a short period of time. You must avoid the sun and wear a stand alone 30 SPF sunblock at all times. There is a relatively easy recovery and low risk associated with this procedure. We always encourage you to plan accordingly as some clients experience a greater reaction.

Swelling, blistering, infection, unwanted pigmentation changes and scarring are rare side effects. Existing viral infections such as shingles and herpes may be activated by the treatment.
